Exploratory Testing is the simultaneous learn, plan and test process, where the emphasis is on knowledgeable test investigation of digital products. It allows the tester to go deeper than scripted testing and can be better focused on new code and specific areas of concern. It is often described as a 'context-driven test approach', and complements both developer-led unit testing and automated functional testing.
